Berta Betancourt

Berta V. Betancourt, 66, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Berta was born to Jose Sabas Vallejo and San Juanita Mora in Brownsville, Texas. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Mrs. Betancourt was preceded in death by her husband: Jose Rafael Betancourt; her father: Jose Sabas Vallejo; her brothers: Antonio Vallejo and Alfredo Vallejo; her sisters: Lupita Gutierrez, Maria de la Cruz Perez, and San Juanita Vallejo.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Berta are her daughters: Natividad Leal (Ricardo), Bertha Williams (Gary Jr.), and Daniela A. Betancourt; her brothers: Jose Sabas Vallejo Jr., Enrique Vallejo, Miguel Vallejo, and Riley Vallejo; her sisters: Sylvia Davila, Elida Aguilar, and Martina Muniz. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Keilani Leal, Giovanni Leal, Nicolas Williams, and Ximena Leal.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary service to begin at 7 p.m., at Trevino Funeral Home-Southmost Monday, May 21, 2018. A Chapel Service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Trevino Funeral Home-Southmost. All services conclude with cremation to follow.
