Carmen R. Saldivar, a beloved resident of Brownsville, Texas, passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family and close friends on September 2, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Born on April 11, 1951, in Brownsville, Carmen was a dedicated individual who lived her life devoted to the Lord Jesus and his teachings. Her faith was the guiding light in her life and influenced every aspect of her being.
Carmen's warm and noble soul touched the lives of all those fortunate enough to know her. She had a heart filled with compassion and genuine care for others. Her acts of kindness were a testament to her character, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was through her involvement in community service or simply offering a listening ear and words of encouragement, Carmen made a positive impact on countless lives.
Carmen will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends who were blessed to have been part of her life. She shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Daniel Garza Saldivar, creating a bond that stood the test of time. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them.
In addition to her husband, Carmen is survived by her daughter Norma Jean (Jonathan Martin) Garza, as well as siblings Esteban Rodriguez, Elida (Jesus Francisco) Taylor, Celia (Thomas†) Garza, Juan Rodriguez, Sandy Hall, and Pauline Lee Rodriguez. Although she has left this world, Carmen's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
As we mourn Carmen's passing, let us also celebrate the incredible life that she lived. A series of services will be held to honor her memory. The visitation will take place on September 7th from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home-Southmost in Brownsville with a gathering for the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home-Southmost Rd.
On September 8th, the visitation will continue from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM at Trevino Funeral Home. A Mass will be held in Carmen's honor at Christ the King Catholic Church in Brownsville at 10:00 AM. Finally, she will be laid to rest at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Brownsville at 11:00 AM.
Carmen was preceded in death by her loving parents, Raul Rodriuez† and Paula Rincones Rodriguez†, her brother Lino (Rachel) Rodriguez†, and sister Sylvia R. Canales†. Though they may no longer be with us physically, their spirits will undoubtedly watch over Carmen as she enters eternal peace.
To know Carmen Saldivar was to experience a love that transcended words. Her gentle nature and unwavering faith inspired all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. As we gather to remember her life, let us cherish the memories and lessons she imparted upon us. She leaves behind a world that is brighter because of her existence, and though she may be gone, her light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
