Daniel John Dale
Daniel John Dale 71, was granted his angel wings on August 06, 2018. His final days were spent surrounded by family that he touched in a small way throughout his blessed life. We thank our Lord for the wonderful years he allowed Danny to be with us.
After graduating from Brownsville High, Danny joined the U.S. Army and served as a Staff Sergeant in Vietnam. Upon his return, he attended Texas Southmost College. He began his career as a welder at Marathon Letourneau and then as an electrician at Brown and Root in Corpus Christi. He then owned Daniel's Electronics in Brownsville and ended his career in trucking.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and in time of need, he never hesitated helping his neighborhood friends. His hobbies were fabricating rail dune buggies and hot rods. On weekends, he would take friends and family to the beach.
Danny: He instilled in me that I should always think of me as #1, and he gave me the ambition to do things for myself, because no one would do it for me.
Kimberly: My dad and I always had our talks when he and I were driving around in my car. He talked about happiness, and he told me all I want is for you to find happiness and move forward. I would tell him, "Okay dad." He said, "Remember that. And promise me you will continue to play my lottery numbers every Monday for the whole week. We will win it some day." My promise to him is that I will never stop.
Ashley: When it came to my studies, he was always so encouraging and motivated me the way only a father can motivate his daughter. He always believed in me, more than I believed in myself. He was my biggest fan, and I will miss him dearly. He would always say encouraging things like, "You better bring a bigger pencil that's the size of a bat to the test, because you are going to bat the hell out of that test!!!" Even when I felt at my lowest or didn't do so well on a test and got discouraged, he never gave up on me and always told me to "keep on trucking!" Med school was very tough for me, and I honestly don't know if I would have been strong enough to push through all that and still make it. Probably not. His unyielding support and encouragement was invaluable to me and something I hold very dear to my heart."
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Oralia Dale Cuellar and General John Patton Dale, U.S. Army.
Left behind to treasure their memories of him are his wife; Emilia (Milly) G. Dale; his children; Daniel John Dale, Jr., Kimberly Nicole Dale, and Dr. Ashley Amber Dale, M.D.; and his grandchildren; Rhiannon Alexandra Barbosa and Shelby Daniella Dale.
