Fernando M. Rivera

Fernando M. Rivera entered his eternal rest on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Brownsville, Tx., at the age of ninety-four years old.  

Fernando was born on May 30, 1929, in Port Isabel, Tx. to his loving parents, Domingo Rivera, and Carlota Martinez.

Fernando is preceded in death by his loving wife; Lucinda Rivera†.

 Fernando was a loving Son, Father, Husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He will be profoundly remembered for the love, joy and happiness he spread to others. Fernando, who went by the nickname "El Charro Negro", loved oyster fishing and hosting backyard parties with live music for his family. He leaves behind beloved memories with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Fernando (Alma) Rivera, Jr., Diana Rivera, his loving grandchildren, Fernando Rivera, III, Vanessa A. Rivera, Alfonso (Raquel) Marquez, Jacob I. Rivera, Isaac Rivera, Krista A. Rivera, Michelle Solis, George Guajardo, James Guajardo, and his loving great-grandchildren, Adan Medina, Sebastian E. Sandoval, Melania Perez, Randy Michael Marquez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  

Public visitation in his honor will take place at Treviño Funeral Home-Southmost Rd. of Brownsville, Texas on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.

Visitation resumes Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 8:15am to 9:30am with a Chapel Service at 10:00am. 

Burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Blvd. at 11:00am.
