Harry Lee Faulk, Jr.
September 29, 1927-December 18, 2017

Harry Lee Faulk, Jr., a faithful and beloved husband, father, and friend, peacefully passed away in his home, graduating to his heavenly home at the blessed age of 90.

Harry was a faithful husband to the love of his life, Betty; dedicated and caring father to his four children-Pat, Emily, Sarah and Thomas; committed teacher to many students; businessman, and faithful friend to countless people.

Harry was born in Brownsville to Harry Lee Faulk, Sr and Ruth Abney Faulk. He attended Brownsville schools graduating from Brownsville High School in 1944. After his high school graduation, Harry proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving briefly during the final months of WWII. His tour of duty led him to the Pacific islands. Following his military service, Harry went on to attend Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree. On June 2, 1951, he married Betty Jeanne Glenn, also of Brownsville. They were married for 59 years, most of this time living and working in Brownsville. They were faithful and dedicated members of First Baptist Church of Brownsville where Harry served officially as a deacon for many years as well as a Sunday School superintendent, and then unofficially as a greeter. Making people feel welcomed and part of the family was one of his priorities.

Harry was a jack-of-all-trades, with work experience in farming, teaching, and business. Harry was a farmer in the Brownsville area during the 1950s. For 15 years, Harry worked as the Gulf Oil Distributor for the lower Rio Grande Valley area. He also taught school at Faulk Jr. High and Brownsville High School, Pace High School and First Baptist School.

In 2005, Harry and Betty moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, to live closer to their children and grandchildren. They became members of First Baptist Church of Muskogee.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Harry Lee Faulk, Sr. and Ruth Abney Faulk of Brownsville, his beloved wife, Betty Faulk, and his brother, William Abney Faulk, Sr. He is survived by his children, Patrick Lee (Patricia) Faulk of Racine, Wisconsin; Emily Anne (Michael) Karlovich of Euless, Texas; Sarah Jeanne (Alan) Good of Elkhart, Indiana; and Thomas Alexander (Chandra) Faulk of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 12 precious grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his sister, Patsy Horick of Temple, TX; many nieces and nephews and friends.
