Jose Flores

Jose Carlos Flores, 71 of Brownsville, Texas entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at VRMC surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Flores was born on August 17, 1942 in Mexico.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter: Alexia De la Cruz, his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Mr. Flores is survived by his wife: Juana R. Flores and his 2 sons: Jose Carlos Carolina Flores Jr., and Rigoberto Yurika Flores, 3 daughters: Maria Virginia Flores, Delia Ricardo F. De La Cruz, and Juanita Paulo F. Noyola and also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, 1 brother: Esteban Flores and 1 sister: Maria Trinidad Flores viuda De Vallejo, and a very beloved friend whom he considered a son: Juan S. Torres.

Mr. Flores was a graduate of The Citizens Police Academy of Brownsville Police Dept., at the age of 57. This was the first Academy in Brownsville and he was the eldest of the students and graduated on December 5, 2002. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a Private Commissioned officer he loved to fish, hunt, a true avid outdoorsman. Born and raised as a humble Rancher, he accomplished his lifes goal of becoming a commissioned Security Officer licensed in the state of Texas.

The viewing and visitation will begin on Friday, February 21, 2014 in our Chapel of Serenity from 11am to the next day over night through Saturday, February 22, 2014, with a holy rosary on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 7:00pm. Religious Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Parish at 555 West St. Francis St., Brownsville, Texas. Further funeral services will be held in Mexico at San Joaquin Funeral Home in Matamoros, Tamps.
