Jose Sierra

Jose Sierra, 84, of Brownsville, Texas entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Mr. Sierra was born on March 19, 1929 to Rosendo Sierra Cisneros and Francisca Salazar Alvarado and is presently survived by his loving wife of 57 years in marriage Maria Magdalena Sierra, four sons: Rosendo Blanca Sierra, Ricardo Consuelo Sierra , Rodolfo Leticia Sierra Rogelio Reyna Sierra, one daughter Maria de los Angeles Sierra and thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Mr. Sierra is preceded in death by his son Lorenzo Sierra in 1980 and by his parents Rosendo Francisca Sierra from Matamoros, Tamaulipas.

Mr. Jose Sierra was born in San Benito, Texas and was raised in Rancho El Estero Verde and then moved to Matamoros, Tamps. where he lived for many years until he moved to Brownsville, Texas in 1967. Mr. Sierra worked many years for Gulf Coast Compress, Gladys Porter Zoo and Amigoland Mall until his retirement.

Our Dad, Grandfather Great Grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep. He will dearly be missed by all of us who loved him for his kindness, a man with a good heart and very supportive with his family.

Serving with honor as pallbearers are Rodolfo Sierra, Ricardo Sierra Jr., Joe Sierra, Joshua Sierra, Lorenzo Sierra and Rogelio Sierra Jr.
The viewing and visitation will begin on Monday, February 24, 2014 in our Chapel of Serenity from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. A mass of celebration will be taking place on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church located on 1055 Military Hwy at 10:00 am followed by interment at Buena Vista Burial Park.
