Jose Torres, Jr.

Jose Torres, Jr. passed to his eternal rest was born on September 15, 1951, in Brownsville, TX, and sadly passed away on February 23, 2024, in his hometown of Brownsville, TX. He was a man known for his loving and caring personality.

Jose's hobbies included spending quality family time while cheering on his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys. His love for his family and friends reflected the warmth and kindness that he shared with all who knew him.

He is now reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Jose Torres† and Maria Soledad Ruiz†. 

Left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Candida Ramos; his devoted children, Graciela (Alberto) Martinez and Josefina (Luis) Ramos; three adored grandchildren; Alberto Ramos, Jr., Francisco Javier Martinez, and Jose Luis Dueñes, Jr.; as well as five cherished great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his three siblings: Ramon Torres, Santiago (Irene) Torres, and Mary Lou (Martin) Catete.

Services to honor and celebrate Jose's life will be held at Trevino Funeral Home located at 1955 Southmost Rd. in Brownsville, TX. 

Visitation will take place on February 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. 

Visitation resumes on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 8:15 AM to 9:45 AM with a service following at 10:00 AM before proceeding to the burial at Guillen Community Cemetery, Inc., 9055 Boca Chica Blvd., Brownsville, TX.

Jose Torres will forever be remembered for the love he shared with those around him and the memories he created that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
