Maria Abete

Maria Del Carmen Abete, 89 of Brownsville, Texas entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Abete was born on October 6, 1925 in Brownsville, Texas. She was one of the founders of Christ the King Church, Altar Society of Christ the King President and of Vela Perpetual president and secretary, worked 39 years at Majestic, Capital, ABC Cinemas and money counter Christ the King Catholic Church.

Mrs. Abete is preceded in death by her Parents: Gustavo Von Hatten 1987, Micaela Von Hatten, Husband: Eduardo D. Abete Jr., 1992, 2 siblings: Robert Von Hatten and Carlos Von Hatten.

Mrs. Abete is presently survived by her 7 children: Edward Abete III Dale Lynn of Virginia Beach, Va., David Anthony Abete Hilda L. of Brownsville, Texas, Albert A Abete of Austin Texas, Teresa A Alaniz Noe of Edinburg Texas, Laura A Jew John Robert of Brownsville, Texas, Deborah Abete Natalia of Brownsville, Texas and Bekki A Garcia George Jr. of Brownsville, Texas and is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 5 Siblings: Gustavo E Von Hatten of Corpus Christi, Texas, Margarita Arne of Corpus Christi, Texas Lucila Pena of Brownsville, Texas Alicia Castaneda of Brownsville, Texas and Connie Harrison of Brownsville, Texas.

Honored to serve as her Pallbearers will be: Edward Abete III, David Anthony Abete, Albert A Abete, Noe Alaniz, John Robert Jew and George Garcia Jr.

Viewing and Visitation will begin on Monday, October 13, 2014 in our Chapel of Devotion from 11:00am to 9:00pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 as of 8:00am to 2:00pm. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 2:00pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Road, Brownsville, Texas. Interment will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
